Classes - Two-DimensionalFall Session/September 10-12Picasso’s "Lost Block" Color PrintingJack Miller All Levels Studio 3 Day class (9am-4pm) Tuition: $165 Materials: $50 In 1959 Picasso developed a revolutionary and deceptively simple method of pulling a multi-colored image from a single linoleum block. Using this innovative technique he produced many editions of fresh, colorful, and decorative block prints. Over the three days of this workshop students will design and execute several color linocut prints using Picasso's method. Jack Miller (Holiday Island, Arkansas) learned the art of etching under the tutelage of Eugene Loving and Norman Criner while living in New Orleans. Working in a classical manner he chronicled the tradition and history of New Orleans architecture through a series of sought-after etchings. Jack's current work can be viewed at his studio at the Art Colony in Eureka Springs. |
