Classes - Fiber ArtSession Five/June 28 - July 2Designing Hand KnitsBo Breda Intermediate Level Studio 5 Day class (9am-4pm) Tuition: $275 Materials: None other than supplies This class is for those hand knitters who have been following patterns but want to begin designing for themselves. Some areas discussed will include garment shaping, creating jacquards and fairisle patterns, increasing and decreasing variations, embellishments, and yarn and fiber characteristics. Finding inspirations and translating them into the world of knits will be investigated along with the challenge of learning to use and love all colors, even the ones you thought you didn't like. Bo was a woven textiles and knitwear designer in New York City for many years before getting her MFA in Fibers from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Since then she has been teaching art and showing her fiber art around the U.S. Currently she is Academic Director of Fashion Design at the Art Institute of California/San Francisco. |
