Classes - Fiber ArtSession Five/June 28 - July 2Wax Carving A to Z with Basic CastingJohn Philippi All Levels Studio 5 Day class (9am-4pm) Tuition: $275 Materials: $100 plus This class is open to all skill levels; beginners are welcome. This workshop will cover instruction and demonstration of objective and non-objective wax working including set ups for stone setting as time permits. Extended workshop hours will be available. By the end of the session casting pieces will have been made by the student. Jon Philippi (Pine Bluff, Arkansas) graduated from the Memphis Academy of Art in 1972. He received one national award representing Arkansas and four state design awards from the Jewelers of America and the Arkansas Jeweler's Association. He has studied with numerous master craftsmen from Penland and GRS, and has thirty-five years experience as a professional metal smith. |
