Classes - Youth Art Week

Session Six/July 5 - July 9

Beginning Sewing and Quilt Making

Suzanne Tourtelot

Studio

5 Day class (10am-3pm)

Tuition: $125

Materials: $20

Students will learn the basics of sewing machine use, seam allowances, and general construction. Students will have their choice of making either leaves, flowers, or a geometric design. Ten stenciled blocks using artist Paintsticks and ten pieced nine patch blocks will be made. Blocks will then be put together to create the quilt top and will be batted and tied. Each student will complete a 36” X 45” lap quilt. The kit will include fabrics and batting.

Suzanne Tourtelot (Holiday Island, Arkansas) is an artist whose unique fiber art has brought her international recognition. She is also an accomplished quilter and an expert in machine work. Suzanne has been a teacher of art, fiber art, and quilting for over thirty years.
