Classes - MetalSession Eight/July 19 - 23Altered Tin Relic BoxesMary Springer All Levels Studio 5 Day class (9am-4pm) Tuition: $275 Altered tin relic boxes are decorative time capsules, small shrines, and three-dimensional scrapbooks. They are designed to hold meaningful objects from a variety of life's experiences: things whimsical, nostalgic, keepsakes from different life events and celebrations, or found and profound objects can be used. Using metalsmithing and assemblage techniques to incorporate your existing artifacts, students will create moving objects of art that reveal a look into the artist's soul, as good art so frequently does. Mary Springer (Eureka Springs, Arkansas) has a B.F.A. from the Memphis College of Art. She completed a master's class with Philip Pearlstein. A nationally collected artist, Mary is a painter and sculptor with many years of teaching experience. |
