Session Six/July 16-20

Karen Stavert
Glass Bead Making I

Beginner Level
Studio
5 Day Class (9am-4pm)
Tuition: $265, (includes lab fee)
Materials: $50 and up

The students will learn basic bead shapes and techniques to assist in bead making success. Also included are some advanced techniques including goldstone stringers, raking, dots, and dichroic glass. Depending on skill level, the students may also make hollow core vessels, critters, etc. The class also covers safety, proper equipment use, and inexpensive studio setup. All necessary material and equipment are provided for use in class. All beads are annealed and returned to students. Additional supplies, kits, and tools will be available for purchase.

Karen has been a lamp worker since 1992, teaching since 1995. She has taught all over the U.S., mostly for major events such as Bead and Button, Lapidary Journal and Art Glass Association. Karen is a published artist and has produced a bead making video.
