Session Seven/July 23-27

Karen Stavert
Glass Beads II

Intermediate
Studio
5 Day Class (9am-4pm)
Tuition: $265 (includes lab fee)
Materials: $50 and up

Learn how to decorate your beads and transform them into fabulous pieces. This class is designed for those who already know how to make basic bead shapes – and, if necessary – the finer points of the process of making cylinder and round beads will be reviewed. Depending on skill level and time, the student will learn the following: paints, powders, mica, frit, frit making, reduction frits, complex stringers, silver leaf, silver wire, dichroic glass, hollow beads, hollow core vessels, critters, large hole beads, and creating your own style. Karen asks that you bring your challenges to class.

Karen has been a lamp worker since 1992, teaching since 1995. She has taught all over the U.S., mostly for major events such as Bead and Button, Lapidary Journal and Art Glass Association. Karen is a published artist and has produced a bead making video.
